How to Entertain Yourself on A Long Winter Flight

Bring along a good book or two – or download some onto your e-reader before you take off.

There's nothing worse than being stuck on a long flight with nothing to do. If you're looking for ways to keep yourself entertained, then bringing along a good book (or two) is a great option. Not only will you have something to keep you occupied, but you can also lose yourself in another world for a few hours. So, next time you're packing for a flight, make sure to throw a few books in your carry-on.

If you're worried about running out of space in your carry-on, then consider downloading some books onto your e-reader before you take off. That way, you can have a whole library at your fingertips without having to lug around a bunch of physical books.

There are tons of great books out there that can help pass the time on a long flight, so make sure to do your research and choose a few that you think you'll enjoy. And if you find yourself getting bored halfway through your flight, don't worry – you can always switch to one of your other books.

So next time you're facing a long flight, make sure to bring along a good book (or two) to keep yourself entertained. You won't regret it!

Pack a portable game console – or download some games onto your phone or tablet.

Playing games is a great way to pass the time on a long flight. Not only will it help keep your mind occupied, but it can also be a great way to socialize with your fellow passengers. If you're traveling with a friend or family member, then consider bringing along a deck of cards or a portable game console.

If you don't want to lug around a console, or you are flying solo, then you can always download some games onto your phone or tablet. There are tons of great games out there that can help pass the time on a long flight.

Some of our personal favorites include "Words With Friends," "2048," and "The Room." These games are perfect for when you need a break from watching movies or sleeping. And, best of all, they can be played offline.

Bring along a comfy neck pillow and eye mask.

Investing in a good neck pillow and eye mask can make a world of difference when it comes to trying to get some sleep on a long flight.  A neck pillow is an essential item for anyone who wants to get a good night's sleep on a long flight. Not only will it help support your head and prevent you from getting a crick in your neck, but it will also help keep your spine aligned. This is especially important if you're sitting in a window seat, as you'll want to avoid leaning too far to one side. A neck pillow is a small, but essential, item that can make a world of difference when it comes to your comfort on a long flight.

An eye mask will help block out the light and allow you to catch some much-needed ZZZs. There's nothing worse than trying to sleep on a long flight and being constantly bothered by the light. If you're looking for a way to block out the light and get some much-needed rest, then an eye mask is a must-have travel accessory. Eye masks are relatively inexpensive and can make a world of difference when it comes to getting some shut-eye on a plane.

Invest in some noise-cancelling headphones.

Noise-cancelling headphones are a must for anyone who wants to get some peace and quiet on a long flight. These headphones will help block out the noise of the engines and any crying babies on board, and allow you to relax or sleep in peace.

If you're someone who values their peace and quiet, then noise-cancelling headphones are a must for you when flying. There's nothing worse than being stuck on a long flight with screaming babies or chatty seatmates, and noise-cancelling headphones can help block out all of that unwanted noise.

Not to mention, they can also help you avoid a headache or ear pain. If you're someone who suffers from headaches or ear pain on flights, then noise-cancelling headphones can be a lifesaver. These headphones can help block out the noise of the engines and any crying babies on board, which can help reduce the pain you're feeling. Make sure to pack a pair of these in your carry-on so you can have a more enjoyable and pain-free flying experience.

So if you're looking for a more peaceful flying experience, be sure to invest in a good pair of noise-cancelling headphones.

Upgrade your in-flight entertainment system.

If you're stuck on a long flight with no in-flight entertainment system, then consider upgrading your seat. Many airlines offer seats with built-in entertainment systems, which can make a world of difference when it comes to passing the time on a long flight. With a built-in entertainment system, you'll have access to a wide variety of movies, TV shows, music, and more to help keep you entertained for the duration of your flight.

These seats usually come with a larger price tag, but they're worth it if you're looking for a more enjoyable flying experience.

Get up and move around as much as possible.

Sitting in a cramped airplane seat for hours on end is no fun, so make sure to get up and move around as much as possible. Taking a walk up and down the aisle every so often is a great way to get your blood flowing and to avoid stiffness.

But, if you're stuck in your seat, there are still some simple exercises you can do to stay active. Here are some easy in-seat exercises you can do on your next long flight:

1) Leg lifts: Lift your legs one at a time, keeping them straight, and hold for a few seconds before lowering them back down. Repeat 10 times for each leg.

2) Ankle rolls: Slowly roll your ankles in a circle, first in one direction and then the other. Repeat 10 times in each direction.

3) Knee bends: Slowly bend your knees and lower your legs until they're parallel with the floor. Hold for a few seconds and then raise them back up. Repeat 10 times.

4) Hip rotations: Place your hands on your hips and rotate your hips in a circle. Repeat 10 times in each direction.

5) Arm circles: Extend your arms out to the sides and make small circles with your hands.
